Willy Vincent
The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at First Baptist Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Ken Hedstrom will officiate. Pallbearers include Dylan Vincent, Randy Vincent, Rusty Vincent, John Maddux, Nathan Byers, Colby Byers and Mike McCasland.
Willy was born Nov. 25, 1930, to Samual and Lenna (Billingsley) Vincent in Mansfield. He married Nelda Morgan Nov. 17, 1971, in Chico.
Willy served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and retired from Wise County Precinct 4 as a maintenance worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin Dowel Vincent; granddaughter Natalie Byers and brothers Homer, Lawrence, Robert Lee and Sam Vincent.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Nelda Vincent of Chico; sons Willy Jack Vincent and wife Robin of Chico, David Evans and wife Tina of Jacksboro, and Ralph Evans and wife, Lanora, of Chico; daughter, Debbie Byers ,and husband, Larry of Chico; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister Ruby Elizabeth Jones of Graham; other family members and a host of friends.
