Tom Parker, 71, of Decatur died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013, in Decatur.

Memorial graveside service was Dec. 3 at Poe Prairie Cemetery in Parker County, near Millsap. Michael Hinson officiated.

Tom was born June 24, 1942, in Abilene to Floyd Elbert and Helen Maurine (Putman) Parker. He married Billie Thatcher Feb. 13, 1993, in Montague, and he was a truck driver for AAA Cooper Transport for 22 years.

Tom is survived by his wife, Billie Thatcher Parker; sons Jeffery Thatcher and Jason Thatcher and wife, Buffie, all of Decatur; grandchildren Kirby Proffitt and wife, Gayanna, of Benbrook, Randi Leyea and husband, Victor, of Fort Worth, Kelsey Proffitt of Ireland, Jadn Thatcher of Decatur, Anna Thatcher of Richmond, Savannah Thatcher of Antlers, Okla., Elizabeth Kelley of Bonham and Colten and Savannah Whitten of Decatur; great-granddaughters Ashten and Katlen Proffitt of Benbrook; sister Nancy Crider and husband, Bobby, of Crane; sister-in-law Phyllis Parker of Alvord; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Jami Proffitt; sisters Shirley Simpson and Nell Berry; and brother James Parker.
