Roy Lee Davidson

Roy Lee Davidson, 83, of Bridgeport died Monday, June 10, 2013, at home.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Cates Street Church of Christ in Bridgeport with burial to follow at Thomas Cemetery. Brother Scott Strothers will officiate.

Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Roy was born Jan. 29, 1930, in Bridgeport to Vergie Cora (Reno) and John Anderson Davidson. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953.

He married Jewel Mae London Nov. 14, 1954, in Decatur and retired as an electrician from Lockheed Martin after 50 years of service. He was a member of the Cates Street Church of Christ. Roy loved horse racing and loved to fish when he was younger.

He is survived by sisters Eula Mae Green of Fort Worth, Anna Lois Hicks of Lubbock and Johnnie Ruth Glassie of Fort Worth; daughter Sandra Lynn Davidson of Denton; stepson James Gordon Bradford of Decatur; granddaughters Cindy Ann Smith of Bridgeport, Jasmine Jaramillo-Morris of Valley View, Julie Bradford of Bryan and Penny Hedgepath of Alvord; and grandson Chris Bradford of Bridgeport.

He was preceded in death by his wife and son Terry Lee Davidson.
