Ronny Dale Simmons, 65, a retired carpenter and truck driver, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, in Decatur.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with Bro. Justin Smith officiating. Burial is private.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Cody Maxfield, Kyle Maxfield, Nathan Simmons, Jason Simmons, Josh Snyder, Randy Simmons, Glen Hawley and Everson Dunn.
Ronny was born Dec. 4, 1947, to Gordon and Hazel (Hobbs) Simmons in Linden. He married Melinda Castleberry Oct. 6, 1965, in Haltom City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Simmons; and his sister, Murlene Ohnheiser.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Melinda Simmons of Paradise; son Rodney Dale Simmons of Paradise; daughter Michelle Renae Maxfield of Fort Worth; grandchildren Cody and wife, Amanda, Nathan and wife, Holly, Lindsey and husband, Josh, Bailey and husband, Everson, and Kyle and wife, Chelsea; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Tommy Simmons and wife, Melba, of Azle and Terry Simmons and wife, Donna, of Fort Worth; sister Becky Hawley of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
