Rodney “Charles” Rhine Sr.

Rodney “Charles” Rhine Sr., 73, of Paradise died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, in Fort Worth.

Funeral was Dec. 3 at the First Baptist Church in Paradise with the Revs. Gary Dimmitt and David Kelly officiating. Burial followed at Paradise Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Cody Hubbard, James Hubbard, John Schedcik, Rainer Mundy, Patrick Mundy, Matt Rhine and Garrett Rhine.

Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Hudson, Lonnie Hobby and Carl Miller.

Charles was born March 16, 1940, in Decatur to A.C. and Frankie (Miller) Rhine. He married Jan Pitcock July 21, 1967, in Pampa. She preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 2007. Charles served his country in the United States Army, and he owned and operated Rhine Welding.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Claudia Marion; and brother Art Rhine.

He’s survived by his daughters, Liz Hubbard and husband, James, of Decatur and Brandi Schedcik and husband, John, of Alvord; sons Bill Mundy of Paradise, Homer Mundy and wife, Nelda, of Paradise and Rodney Rhine and wife, Michelle, of Fort Worth; 21 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Ronnie Rhine of Paradise and Jerry Rhine of Justin; sister Joy Cogburn of Amarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
