Nellie Scott

Nellie Scott, 78, of Decatur, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 in Decatur.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Nellie was born May 20, 1934 in Alabama to William and Ida (Sims) Hardin. She was owner of Community Florist in New Caney, where she also wrote a column in the local newspaper. Nellie was a loving mother and friend and will be missed.

Survivors include her son, Joey Smith and wife Debbie of Boyd; two grandchildren, Heather Gibson and husband Danley of Coppell and Jeremiah Smith and wife Josie of Boyd; one great-grandchild, Kale Gibson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, A.J. Smith; son Jackie Smith; and nine brothers and sisters.
