Nellie Collins Pylant, 88, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, in Benbrook.
Funeral was Aug. 12 at the First Baptist Church in Alvord with the Revs. Bill Cleveland and Doyle Slimp officiating. Burial was in Jonestown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Neal Holloway, Mitch Terrell, Kent Terrell, Ronnie Corbell, Ben Holly, Todd Hodges and James Parker. Honorary pallbearers were Dan Green, David Goodwin, Kay Swain and Charlie Brewton.
Nellie was born Jan. 22, 1925, in the Jonestown Community to Bill and Minnie (Upton) Collins. She married Bill North Aug. 14, 1942, and he was killed in World II during the invasion of Normandy. She married W.C. Pylant Jan. 28, 1945, and they were married 60 years until his passing in 2006.
She is survived by a daughter, Leah Bounds of Benbrook; grandchildren Autum, Colin, Kyle and wife, Heather, and Caitlin; great-grandchildren Summer, Jenyka and Brady; sister Dorris Terrell of Chico; sister-in-law Oleta Deutloff of Decatur; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill North; husband W.C. Pylant; son Ricky Steven Pylant in 2000; sisters Polly Collins and Lena Reasoner; and brother Andy Collins.
