Moises Torres

Moises Torres, 59, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in Decatur.

Mass of Christian burial was Jan. 8 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Father Jacob Alvares officiating. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home of Decatur.

Pallbearers were Luis Torres, Alfredo Torres, Carlos Torres, Gregorio Torres, Martin Torres, Eliazar Torres, Jose Torres, Gordon Wade and Gerald Lanier.

Moises was born March 14, 1953, in San Luis De La Paz, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Gregorio and Enedina Torres. He married Juana S. Torres in 1981 in Mexico.

Moises was a lifelong cattleman and ranch hand and was employed by the Decatur Livestock Auction.

Survivors include his wife, Juana S. Torres; sons Luis G., Alfredo, Carlos and Gregorio Torres; and daughters Yadira, Cristina and Veronica Torres, all of Decatur; brothers Ignacio, Gregorio, Juan, Jose, Eliazas, Marlin and Eloy Torres; sisters MaLuisa, Yolanda, Rosalia and Rocio Torres; and grandchildren Christian and Sebastian Torres.
