Melody Delyn Moody-Rasco

Services for Melody Delyn Moody-Rasco, 44, of Springtown were held Jan. 14 at the First Baptist Church of Cottondale.

Melody was born Nov. 13, 1968 to Ray Gene “Buddy” Moody, Sr., and Lois (Permenter) in Irving. She died Jan. 10, 2013 in Decatur.

She graduated from Haltom Senior High School and obtained two associate degrees from Weatherford College. While attending classes, she co-founded a club that raised money to help the disabled. During this time she also had one of her many poems published and was listed in “Who’s Who.”

She was a member of, and enjoyed fellowship with, the First Baptist Church of Cottondale. She spent her life dedicated to God. She loved arts and crafts, including wood crafts, and collecting porcelain dolls.

Pastors Charles Pugh of First Baptist Church of Cottondale, and Terry Terry of Friendship Baptist Church in Boyd officiated the service. Burial was at Cottondale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary Forsythe, Daniel Meeks, Sr., Chad Blair, Anthony Hicks, Bruce Rasco, and Billy Thompson.

Melody is survived by her husband, Mark Rasco of Springtown; parents Buddy and Lois Moody of Decatur; sister Annette Forsythe and husband Gary of Dickinson, and sister Terri Meeks and husband Dan of Paradise; brother Ray “Corky” Moody and wife Lisa of Paradise; mother-in-law Alice Rasco of Springtown; and many loving aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and in-laws.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Bill and Maudie Moody, and Lesley and Emma Permenter; and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
