Marylee Thompson, 54, a computer vendor processor, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Decatur.
Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial in Chico Cemetery. The Rev. Eric Crawford will officiate, and pallbearers will be Bill Cox, Thill Hokit, Brandon Cook and Jesse Latta.
Marylee was born June 6, 1958, to Thuron and Lillian (Grooms) Thompson in Decatur. She graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1976, attended Tarrant County Junior College for two years and graduated in 2005 with a certification in Business and Computer Processing.
Marylee worked for Tandy Computer Leasing in Fort Worth for 22 years, then worked for five years for Colonial Savings, also in Fort Worth. She was active in many Metroplex events and volunteered for numerous charities.
Marylee was a Southern Baptist and a member of the Heritage Baptist Church in Haslet.
She was preceded in death by her father; and her grandparents, Ada and C.O. Thompson and Raney and John Grooms.
Survivors include her mother, Lillian Thompson of Bridgeport; sister Cara Thompson of Bridgeport; brothers Thuron Thompson Jr. of Chico, Melvin Thompson and wife, Pam, of Euless; nephew Chris Lightfoot and wife, Montse, of North Richland Hills; great-nephews Christopher and Tyler; other family members and a host of friends.
