Maria Anna Pedersen, 85, a retired jewelry salesperson, of Alvord died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, in Decatur.

Memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Harrison officiating.

Ms. Pedersen was born July 3, 1927, in Bad-Kohlgrub, Germany, to Sebastian and Antonie (Hafenmayer) Buchl. She married Alfred Pedersen Dec. 18, 1954, in Munich, Germany. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Decatur.

She is survived by a daughter, Marianne Pedersen of Alvord; sons Lars and Arthur Pedersen, both of Utah; granddaughters Adrienne Reed and Elizabeth Downs, both of Alvord; five great-grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth Weber and Karola Dittman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ms. Pedersen was preceded in death by her husband, her brother and four sisters.
