Luke Richard Muns, 24, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013.
Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Barbara Orthodox Church in Fort Worth. Interment will be 11 a.m. Monday in Garden of Memories Cemetery in El Campo. The family received friends Friday at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth, with Panikhida at 7 p.m.
Luke was born in Fort Worth to William and Lucie Muns on July 25, 1989. He was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 2008-2013. During this time he received several awards including Navy Achievement Medal, NATO Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M device, National Defense Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Marine Corps Reserve Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon and Commander’s Letter of Appreciation.
He also worked as a fleet manager for Mukoque Construction LDA in Mozambique, Africa.
Luke was a loving father, son, brother and friend, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Arlene and Everett Dutton; and maternal grandmother, Nina Boldyreff Gogin.
Survivors include his paternal grandparents, Nelda and Bill Muns of El Campo; father Randy Muns of Chico; mother Lucie Muns of Chico; son Jackson Muns of Ovilla; significant other, Molly Barton of Ovilla; brothers Matthew Muns of Southlake and John Muns of Chico; sisters Anne Muns Hartfield of Grand Prairie and Amanda Muns of Dallas; nieces Genevieve Hartfiled and Elizabeth Muns; nephews Julian Hartfield and Theodore Muns; and many other family members and friends.
