Lucille Olene Burrows

Lucille Olene Burrows, 87, of Bowie, formerly of Decatur, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in Bowie.

Graveside services is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Oakland Cemetery in Gorman. Chaplain Doyle Wade will officiate, and burial will be under the direction of White’s Funeral Home in Bowie.

Lucille was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Gorman to Ollie Mae (Davenport) and Douglas McClure Gaines. She was a telephone operator for more than 50 years who enjoyed crocheting and crafting. She attended the Cowboy Church of Sunset.

Lucille is survived by her sons, Gary Burrows and wife, Donna, of Chico and Steven Burrows of Bowie; daughters Dianne Adams of Haltom City and Sherry Barfield and husband, Dean, of Kansas, Okla.; sisters Polly Davis of Fort Worth and Mary Dale Williams and husband, Jimmy, of San Antonio; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son David Burrows; granddaughter Amanda Burrows; four brothers; and two sisters.
