Louis Wayne Lovejoy, 68, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Denton.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with the Rev. Jerry Koltes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Tim Fletcher, Larry Smith, Mark Petty, Ken O’Dell, Kirk Simmons and Leslie Fortenberry.
Wayne was born Oct. 28, 1944, in Fort Worth to John and Lillian (Pinkerton) Lovejoy. He married Maurine Howard June 1, 1968, in Greenwood. Wayne served his country in the U.S. Army and worked for Peterbilt for 27 years as an engineer technician.
Wayne was a Christian and was an active member of the Greenwood Cemetery Association. He enjoyed spending free time with his family and friends. His family meant more to him than anything else.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Wayman Earl Lovejoy; and brothers Benny, James, and John Lovejoy.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Maurine Lovejoy of Argyle; son Weldon Lovejoy of Argyle; daughter Dana Kilburn of Corinth; grandson Tyler Kilburn of Norfolk, Va., currently serving in the U.S. Navy; sisters Kay Oates of Decatur and Alice Solis of Evergreen, Colo.; brother Charles “Rusty” Lovejoy of Crafton; cousin Kyle “Tooter” and Mayme Fletcher of Slidell, who raised him; other family members and a host of friends.
