Joe Charles Webb

Joe Charles Webb, 61, of Childress, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, in Lubbock.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Johnson Funeral Home in Childress with Dr. J.M. Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Childress Cemetery.

Joe was born May 16, 1952, in Wynnwood, Okla., to Charles and Catherine Webb. He attended elementary school in Decatur and graduated from high school in Norman, Okla., in 1970. He received a bachelor of science degree in behavioral science from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and married Mary Dee Meinzer in 1972.

Joe’s success in business took him throughout the United States and Europe. He taught math and coached football in Alvin and owned a successful restaurant in Marietta, Ga. He was an outstanding auctioneer and real estate broker. Joe was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite. He served on the board of education in Alvin and was a former president of the Sugarland Rotary.

Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Dee Webb and daughter Ashley Webb, both of Lubbock; son John Webb of Atlanta, Ga.; and aunt Mary Helen Rose and husband, Roy, of Moore, Okla.
