Jane L. Siegmund, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in Fort Worth.
Funeral was Dec. 26 at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Jane was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Gainesville. She graduated from Gainesville High School and went on to earn a degree from the University of Texas. She taught elementary school in Austin and Fort Worth before beginning a long and rewarding career as a homemaker, volunteer and part-time sports therapist.
When not watching her children’s athletic endeavors or serving as chauffeur, she found time to volunteer with the Aledo PTA, The Woman’s Club of Fort Worth and the Tarrant County Bar (Wives) Association. She was past president of numerous clubs and departments within The Woman’s Club, served as an adviser to the Junior Woman’s Club and served on the Historical Preservation Trust. Jane was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She married Martin Siegmund in 1953, and they lived in Fort Worth before moving to Aledo in 1972. She was a faithful Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two older sisters, Marjorie Williams and Billie Giles.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years; sons Scott and wife, Melinda, of Decatur and Mark and wife, Sue; daughters Sharon and Susan and partner, Heather; grandchildren Rachel, Harrison, Thomas, Colton and Sheridan; and brother Charles L. Links Jr.
