James Welton Redwine

James Welton Redwine, 87, a rancher, farmer and dairyman, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, in Decatur.

Funeral was June 29 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with the Revs. Charles Taylor and Jason Wiggington officiating. Burial was at Sweetwater Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jerry Mara, Ed Robinson, Mike Overton, Steve Burk, Cheyenne Redwine and Laramie Redwine. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Burk, Sonny Burk and Dale Burk.

Welton was born May 4, 1926, in Chico to Hugh and Sybil (Howell) Redwine. He married Peggy (Israel) Redwine June 8, 1947, in Decatur and was a member of the Allison Community Church.

He is survived by his son, Tony Redwine and wife, Connie, grandsons Cheyenne and Laramie Redwine, and sister Dora Rose, all of Decatur; and a host of friends.

Welton was preceded in death by his wife; son Jimmy Don Redwine; brother Ardell Redwine; and sister Ora Redwine.
