James “Pete” Sanders, 79, died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in Boyd.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd. Speaker will be lifelong friend Dick Gibson.
Pete was born Feb. 15, 1934, in Grapevine to Rondo and Avery Mae (Goode) Sanders. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a retired ground mechanic for Delta Airlines.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara Ann Sanders in 1998; infant daughter Genelore Sanders; brothers Cliff, Bob, John, Homer and Fred Sanders; and sisters Wilma Sale and Faye Herrington, Annie Rodgers, Essie Pope, Ruby Taylor, Aubrey Martin and Eunice Gibson.
Survivors include his sons, Ronnie Sanders and wife, Kelli, of Boyd and Eddie Sanders and wife, Brenda, of San Angelo; daughter Janna Robinson and husband, Bill, of Boyd; grandchildren Nocona Mundy and husband, Rainer, of Cottondale, Sabrina Pyle and husband, Bryan, of Minot, N.D., Stacey Vaughn and husband, Robert, of Abilene and Casey Crouch and wife, Chelsha, of Corsicana; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary (Snooks) Goodwin of Decatur and Jennie Stowe of Hurst; and other family members and friends.
