Jackie Dewey Potter

Jackie Dewey Potter, 74 of Decatur, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013.

He was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Wise County to H.M. “Doog” Potter and Nellie Pitts Potter. He married Patricia Berry in Marietta, Okla., Nov. 29, 1957, and served in the Army National Guard.

Visitation is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, with the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. The Rev. Kim Broadstreet will officiate, and burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Wise County.

Honorary pallbearers will include Buddy Bowles, Billy Tony, Don Gay, Darrell McMorris, Larry Lay, Jack Holloway and Dennis Bryson.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Patricia; son Michael Potter; daughter Brenda Wenninger; sisters Nita Brown and Betty Brooks; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers James Lee Potter and Marvin Potter; and sister Mary Stephans.
