J.B. Fussell, 88, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at his home in Boyd.
Funeral was Sept. 24 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with Ronnie Oxford officiating. Burial followed at Boyd Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jay Bryan Fussell, Hayden Perdue, Scott Joplin, Mark Reeves, Bill Allen and Bruce Martin.
J.B. was born Jan. 10, 1925, to Ben and Louella (Parker) Fussell in Nacogdoches. He married Virginia Lee Adams July 18, 1946, in Lufkin. J.B. was a proud veteran of the United States Army Air Force.
He was a service tool and dye maker for General Dynamics and retired in 1981 after 31 years of dedicated service. He was also a member of the Masons for more than 50 years.
J.B was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Fussell of Boyd; son Bruce Fussell of Boyd; granddaughter Sherry Perdue and husband, Hayden, of Mansfield; grandson Jay Bryan Fussell and wife, Malorie, of Fort Worth; great-grandchildren Avery and Chase; brother Clyde Fussell of Alvarado; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
