Ira Austin Wilson, 95, of Boyd, died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in Decatur.
Graveside service was Dec. 27 at Boyd Cemetery with burial under the direction of Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Ira was born April 29, 1918, in Eastland County to George and Sara (Guess) Wilson. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was a retired U.S. Army Civil Service Quality Control Inspector and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Ira was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Emma Othell Wilson; his second wife, Esther Evelyn Wilson; sons Ira J. and Dale Wilson; brothers Aubry, Milt, Clarence and Kyle Wilson; and sisters Omi, Lilly, Gladys and Lois.
He is survived by his daughters, Beth Hinds and Gladys Carrol Lambert, both of Boyd; grandchildren Jason, Jenny, Kenneth, Emma, Holly, Billy, Marcy and Audra; great-grandchildren Ethan, Sydney, Zebin, Lily, Hope, Amelia, Ogden, Benecio, Zane, Brieghley and Jude; and other family members and friends.
