Inell Cassity Reed, 93, of Granbury, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at her home in Hood County.
Funeral is 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. There is no visitation.
Inell was born Jan. 21, 1920, in Olden to Charles Alvin and Nancy Ann (Reeder) Cassity. She graduated from Decatur High School and married John Wesley Reed in Gainesville Aug. 15, 1945. They had been married 51 years, four months at his death in 1996.
She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur and a homemaker. She worked alongside her husband in a farm and ranch business in Wise County until his death and later relocated to Hood County to live with her sister, Flora.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters Flora Reed and Lara Cassity; brother Jasper Doyle Cassity; and nephew Thomas Trietsch.
They had no children, but loved their 11 nieces and nephews as their own. She is survived by nephews Gene Reed and wife, Ila Faye, Ray Reed and wife, Barbara, and Danny Reed and wife, Kathleen; nieces Kay Trietsch, Ann Osburn and husband, Johnny, Shirley Haisler and husband, J.B., Evelyn Yeats and husband, Clyde, Wanda Maltby, Sherrie Matlock and husband, Tommy, Paula Emmett and husband, Gary, and Linda Guinn; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family extends thanks to Mission Hospice and the caregivers who loved and cared for her for the last few years of her life.
