Gerald Ray ‘Satch’ Jones, 75, of Granbury, a longtime resident of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in Granbury.

Funeral was April 5 at Cates Street Baptist Church in Bridgeport with the Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating. Burial followed in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Members of the Masonic Lodge served as pallbearers.

Gerald was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Bridgeport to Marion Frank and Ruby Fay (Gibbs) Jones. He spent most of his years here and was proud to call Bridgeport his home. He was self-employed until his retirement as a diesel mechanic.

He was an Honorary Past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge and was also an ordained deacon of Cates Street Baptist. His hobbies included dominoes and playing cards.

He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Shook of Granbury and Jamie Erwin and husband, Scott, of Bridgeport; former wife, Sue Wright and husband, Walter, of Bridgeport; sisters Pat Lambert and husband, Cliff, Lucy Meadows and husband, Dean, and Betty Shurbet, all of Paradise; grandchildren Jason Jones and wife, Stephanie, of Granbury, Ryan Shook of Granbury, and Alicia and Lacey Erwin of Bridgeport; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; longtime companion Hazel Maxine Prince; and sisters Ollie Fay and Dollie May Jones, Janice Marie and Coylene Jones; and brother-in-law Jessie Shurbet.
