Etta Mae Fluker, 85, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, in Decatur.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with the Rev. Ken May officiating. Pallbearers include Brian Dooling, Brent Payton, Randy Slimp, Timothy Slimp, Louis Dooling and Kendell Payton.
Interment will be in Cottonwood Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home of Decatur.
Etta was born Sept. 6, 1928, in Corsicana to Tarrant and Myrtle Mae (King) Gilliam. She married Finis Eugene Fluker March 11, 1946, at the First Baptist Church in Corsicana. She received her master’s in education at Western State in Gunnison, Colo.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Gene Fluker of Decatur; daughter, Margaret Dooling and husband, Louis, of Decatur; grandchildren, Georgetta Slimp and husband, Randy of Decatur; Katie Payton and husband, Brent, of San Antonio, and Brian Dooling and wife, Tina, of Victoria; great-grandchildren Amelia, Timothy, Courtney, Kendell, Ashlee, Kohltin and Tristin; great-great-granddaughter, Emma Alexis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Etta was preceded in death by a son, Tarrant Eugene Fluker, and one brother.
