Erlene Barbour, 87, died Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Lubbock.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 29 in the First Baptist Church of Tulia with Rev. Jason Stone and Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A visitation will be Sunday, July 28 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Erlene was born Sept. 19, 1925, to Loren and Lora Brooks in Santa Ana, the second oldest of seven children. She grew up and attended schools in Santa Ana and moved to Tulia in 1945. On Dec. 28, 1946, she married Van Barbour in Plainview. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Tulia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two daughters, Jimmie Sue Estes and Dorothy Timmons.
Survivors include two daughters, Jean Richards and husband Jim of Decatur and Kathy Lust of Lubbock; two sons, Ed Barbour and wife Donna of Sunray and Steve Barbour of Cleburne; brothers Gerald Brooks of Fort Davis and Glean Brooks of Granbury; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
