Edna Belle Pinkerton, 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013.
Visitation is 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Graveside service is 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 16, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Son-in-law Bill Hughes will officiate, and pallbearers will be Bobby Hughes, Ronnie Hughes, Eric Vincent, Dennis Lee, James Haisler and Tim Fletcher.
Edna was born March 24, 1921, in rural Wise County to Ernest A. and Ruby M. (Sandlin) Lee. She was a lifelong resident of Wise County, living mostly in Decatur, and she married the late J.W. Pinkerton June 15, 1940, in Tarrant County.
She worked in her family’s grocery business, E.A. Lee Grocery, for many years and retired as an Avon representative in 1990, after 13 years of award-winning service.
Edna enjoyed travel, her family and was an expert at any craft she attempted. She was a member of the Decatur Church of Christ for 72 years.
She is survived by daughters Jackie Hughes and husband, Bill, of Decatur and Janice Urbec of Issaquah, Wash.; grandchildren Bobby Hughes and wife, KaSondra, Ronnie Hughes and wife, Frances, of Decatur and Christie Lay and husband, Mike, of Issaquah; and great-grandchildren Courtney Lue and husband, Kenneth, of Austin, Chelsea Hughes of San Antonio, Kendall Lay of Issaquah and Cody Hughes of Decatur.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 6, 2008; and brother Vernon A. Lee.
