Dorothy Jane Wilder Condon, 80, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, in Fort Worth.
A celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at the First Presbyterian Church of Crowley, followed by a private internment at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth.
Dorothy was born Jan. 18, 1933, in Holton, Kan., to George and Claribel “Sally” Wilder. After her family moved to Texas, Dorothy attended Paschal High School in Fort Worth. She earned a degree in elementary education from Texas Christian University in 1954.
Dorothy married Robert “Bob” Condon in 1953. Together they raised three children and hosted two foreign exchange students. Dorothy and Bob would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in December.
Dorothy taught kindergarten and first grade for the Fort Worth ISD for 20 years. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa.
Dorothy enjoyed singing, playing the piano, reading, crossword puzzles, traveling and everything to do with the outdoors. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; sister Virginia Cain; brother Leon Wilder; and son-in-law Donald C. Clifton.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Condon; children Brian Condon of Lakewood Village, Lynne Clifton of Chico, Carol Riley of Arlington, Sergio Savytzky of Brazil and Kaija Laasko of Finland; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Her beautiful smile, love, and joy of life will be missed by all.
