Bill Meyer, 76, of Archer City died Friday, March 1, 2013, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral was March 3 at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Pastor Roger Deerinwater officiating. Burial was in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

Bill was born Oct. 23, 1936, in Forestburg to Theodore Roy Meyer and Anna Rebecca Barclay Meyer.

He married Bobbie Nivens May 19, 1956, in Forestburg. They moved to Archer City in March of 1957 where he lived for the rest of his life.

Bill was a mechanic for Burns, Perry Pittman Ford, and Murphy Chevrolet before opening B&B Garage with Buck Chamberlain. He later owned and operated his own business until his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie, of Archer City; sons Robert Meyer of Wichita Falls and Doyle Meyer and partner, George Feazel, of West Monroe, La.; daughters Beverly Southard and husband, Chester, of Archer City, Brenda Goforth and fianc , Charlie McMurtry, of Archer City, and Rhonda Russell and husband, Arthur, of Lexington, S.C.; sister Wilma Richardson of Forestburg; grandchildren Kari Goforth of Wichita Falls, Erica Goforth of Frisco, Christopher, Khristal, Ashley and Cameron Southard of Archer City, LeShe’ Russell Mansor and husband, Jack, of Charleston, S.C., and Austin Russell of Lexington, S.C.; and great-grandson Brayson Southard of Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Geneva, and his twin sister, Betty; his brother, Roy; and his son-in-law, Vincent Goforth.

Roy Allen, Mark Hilbers, Burk Morris, Sam Nivens, Jack Whitsitt and Ronnie Williams served as pallbearers.
