Betty Evelyn Calhoun, 91, a homemaker, died Sunday, April 7, 2013, in Decatur.
Funeral is 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Greenwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Epting and the Rev. Ken May officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Raymond Hamm, Danny Pruett, Roger Weber, Tim Fletcher, Preston Pruett, Clint Sullivan, Hector Villa and Mike Lane.
Betty was born March 5, 1922, in Terrell to John Arter and Flora Wells (West) Bryant. She married Weldon Benjiman “Ben” Calhoun Nov. 22, 1950, in Valley View, and he preceded her in death Feb. 10, 2010.
Betty was also preceded in death by her daughter, Katie Stevens, on Feb. 3, 2013, and by a brother, Douglas Bryant and a sister, Laura Bryant.
Betty was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union, Greenwood Extension Education Club and Greenwood Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, James Calhoun and friend, Debra Lester, of Krum; granddaughters Kristi Stevens of Frisco and Courtney Stevens of Decatur; son-in-law Charles Stevens of Decatur; sister Dorothy Hughes of Fort Worth; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
