B.J. Stringfellow

Billy Joe Stringfellow, 82, of Burkburnett, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013.

Service is Saturday, Feb. 23, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Weslie Odom officiating. Burial will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.

A son of the late Thelma (Hobbs) and Benjamin Stringfellow, Billy was born Sept. 2, 1930, in Grapevine. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict, and he worked as an installer for Southwestern Bell prior to his retirement. Billy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Stringfellow of Burkburnett; daughter Becky Erickson and husband, Richard, of Galveston; son Tracy Stringfellow and wife, Kim, of Burkburnett; sister , Sandra Ward and husband, Gary, of Bentonville, Ark.; grandchildren Isaac Erickson and wife, Velicia, of Junction City, Ore., Shawn Slayton and wife, Jennifer, of Wichita, Kan., Tanner Slayton of Dallas, Christopher Carlton Erickson of San Marcos, Elyssa Erickson of Galveston, Jamie Lemieux and wife, Bethany, of Enid, Okla., Brennon Lemieux of Denton, Jadon Stringfellow and Rylan Stringfellow, both of Burkburnett; great-grandchildren Madison Slayton, Rylie Lemieux and Aiden Lemieux.
