Addiele Jennings, 84, a retired legal secretary, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, in Decatur.
Funeral was June 23 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd with private burial. Speakers were Bud Smith, Mark Culpepper, David Hill and Jane Hill. Pallbearers were Bud Smith, Rusty Smith, Jeremy Hill, Dewey Hill, Cliff Tinney and Allen Tinney. Honorary pallbearer was Frank Tinney.
Addiele was born April 27, 1929, to A.L. and Lillie (Denham) Tinney in Forestburg. She graduated from Forestburg High School in 1946, received a bachelor of business administration degree from North Texas State University in 1949 and received an Emergency Teaching Certificate in 1952. She married Garland E. Jennings Sept. 25, 1951, in Rockwall.
Addiele was a legal secretary for Johnson & Gibbs law firm in Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Garland Jennings; son Max Jennings; brothers Arthur, Clifford and Charles Tinney; and sisters Wilma and Julia Tinney, Harriet Crenshaw Rankin and Christine Willingham.
Survivors include her son, Carol Wade Jennings of Muncie, Ind.; daughter-in-law Carol Ann Jennings; grandchildren Mark, Phillip, Heather, John and Jason; sisters Catherine Davenport of Grand Prairie, Jackie Waggoner and husband, Ted, of Boyd, and Pat Smith of Boyd; sister-in-law Margaret Tinney of Paradise; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many friends.
