Attorney Allen L. Williamson, a partner in the law firm of Simpson, Boyd and Powers, has again been named as one of the top young attorneys in Texas by the publishers of Texas Monthly.
According to the magazine’s April edition, the list is comprised of the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in Texas under the age of 40. This is the third consecutive year for Williamson to be chosen.
“I am extremely humbled by the recognition,” he said. “There are many deserving attorneys across the state, and I am so honored to be selected.”
Williamson’s career started in the Wise County District Attorney’s Office. He served as the first assistant district attorney for five years before joining the Decatur-Bridgeport firm of Simpson, Boyd and Powers in 2006. He became a partner in 2009.
Williamson is board-certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He is licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, all federal district courts in Texas, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
He serves on the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charge Committee. Since 2008, Williamson has served as Wise County Republican Chairman.
Williamson and his wife, Mendee, have three children, Jessica, Amber and Aaron. They live in Runaway Bay and are active members of Grace Fellowship Church.
