DECATUR BURGLARIES – Three Decatur businesses were struck by a burglar or burglars sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 6 or 7 a.m. Tuesday. Two businesses are located in the 100 block of Washburn Street – Patti’s Hair Parlor and Dr. Tad Billmire’s optometry office. Just a couple of blocks away, La Cena Restaurant in the 300 block of East Walnut Street was broken into. Decatur Police Chief Rex Hoskins said the burglars stole cash from each business. VOTING TOPS 7,000 – With polls open an extra three hours yesterday, 1,144 voters turned out for early voting in the Nov. 6 general election. That includes 631 at the Decatur Civic Center, 277 at Rhome City Hall and 236 at the Bridgeport Law Enforcement Center. That brings early voting totals to 7,927, meaning the early voting record of 8,517 could be broken today with three days of early voting left. Voting continues 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the three locations.

VICTORY FALL FESTIVAL – Victory Family Church in Decatur will host a fall carnival 6-8 tonight. There will be vendors, games, rides, candy and a live auction to benefit Victory Christian Academy. For more information, visit www.victoryfamilychurch.com.

RHOME TRICK OR TREAT – Rhome Parks and Recreation is having trick or treat 5-9 tonight at the Family Park located at 400 Virginia Lane.

TRUNK OR TREAT – Central Fellowship Church in Decatur is having a trunk or treat 6-8 tonight featuring candy, bounce house, climbing wall, games and free photos. The church is located at 2950 U.S. 380 West.

FALL FESTIVAL – Governor’s Ridge Retirement and Assisted Living will host an indoor fall festival 6-8 tonight at 300 E. Deveraux in Decatur. Attendants are encouraged to wear costumes. There will be food, games, candy and prizes.

FBC FALL FEST – First Baptist Bridgeport will host a Family Fun Fall Fest 6:30-8 tonight in the Family Life Center. Attendants are asked to wear their costumes. There will be games, prizes, candy, food and drinks. For more information, call (940) 683-4037 or visit www.fbcbridgeport.com.

FUMC TRUNK OR TREAT – First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport will host a Trunk or Treat 5-7 tonight in the Bridgeport Middle School parking lot. There will be trick or treating, face painting, games, a cake walk, hay ride and bounce house.

FALL FEST – First Baptist Church of Chico will host a Fall Fest for all community children 6-9 tonight. The free, safe event will be in the north parking lot of the church and will include Trunk or Treat, face painting, ring toss, a bounce house, cupcake walk and hot dogs.

COSTUME PARADE – Suit Up and Say Boo costume parade and trick or treating is today down Halsell Street in Bridgeport. Participants will meet at the Duckwall’s parking lot at 5 p.m. For more information, call (940) 683-3400.

HABITAT ORIENTATION – Trinity Habitat for Humanity will have homeowner orientation 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church in Bridgeport, 608 17th St. Those interested in building and owning a home through the organization are invited. CHAMBER LUNCH – The Paradise Chamber of Commerce luncheon is at noon, Thursday, Nov. 5, at Paradise City Hall. Sheriff David Walker will speak.

FAMILY FUN NIGHT – The first-ever Carson Elementary Family Fun Night is 6-9 p.m. Friday at the school. Admission is one canned food item to be donated to WARM. There will be bounce houses, prizes, a four square tournament and a DJ.

RINGERS NEEDED – Local volunteers are needed to ring the Salvation Army bell in front of Walmart in Decatur between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Two-hour slots are available from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. FUNERALS – Memorial service for Joyce Dean Wolff, 75, of Paradise is 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport is handling arrangements.

SERVICE for Maggie S. Balthrop, 91, of Slidell is 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Slidell with private burial. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

FUNERAL for Bobby Neal Russell Sr., 73, of Decatur is 2 p.m. Saturday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial at Jaybird Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
