CHS TO RECEIVE IPADS – The Chico ISD board voted Monday to purchase Apple iPads for students in grades 9 through 12 for the coming school year. All teaching staff and administrators in Chico ISD have them already and are currently training on how to use them. The plan also calls for students in grades 6 through 8 to get iPads in 2013, and elementary students will be able to sign up to use them from a cart system beginning the following year. The 200 iPads, with cases, were approved for purchase at $379 each – a total of just more than $75,000. The district also voted to purchase iBooks for high school students. The Bridgeport school district Monday also approved the purchase of iPads for pre-k through eighth grade. Read more about both in the midweek Wise County Messenger on news stands today.
