NIGHT OUT – Decatur Police Department’s 2012 National Night Out is at 6 tonight on the Square in Decatur.
GREASE FIRE – The Decatur Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in the kitchen of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop on the Square in Decatur yesterday around 5 p.m. The grease fire was quickly extinguished, and there were no reports of injuries.
IPAD ROLLOUT – McCarroll Middle School students at Decatur will begin receiving their iPads today at orientation sessions. Parent orientation meetings are offered by grade levels, with eighth grade meeting today, seventh grade tomorrow, sixth grade Thursday and all grade levels Friday. PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST – Deadline to submit entries for the 2012 Coal Miners’ Heritage Festival Photography Contest sponsored by the Bridgeport Cultural Arts Board is 5 p.m. Thursday to Jesica at Bridgeport City Hall (900 Thompson St.). Categories include youth color, youth black and white, adult color and adult black and white. UPCYCLE – Tweens and teens ages 11 and up are invited to the Decatur Public Library’s Upcycle craft program at 4 p.m. Thursday. Those attending will make two fun and creative crafts from things you’re likely to find around the house. Call the library at (940) 393-0290 for more information.

CLASS REUNION – The 30th reunion for Decatur High School Class of ’82 is 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at Reunion on the Square in Decatur. The class is hosting a multi-class reunion 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Decatur Civic Center for classes ’79-’85. Cost is $30 per person, payable at the door, and it includes dinner. RAFFLE BENEFITING BASEBALL – The Boyd High School baseball team is holding a raffle to win a chance to experience a NASCAR ride at Texas Motor Speedway. The ride is four laps at speeds in excess of 160 mph in one of the Nextel Cup Race Cars. Winners will have through September 2013 to book the event. Tickets are $5 or five for $20. Tickets can be purchased through Friday at the Boyd High School and Boyd Middle School offices. Winners will be announced Friday night at the Boyd High School football game.
