A man was seriously injured Saturday afternoon when he rolled his trike on Farm Road 718, south of Newark. The rider was driving southbound when his custom trike overturned near Maxwell Road. Firefighter Brett Davis with the Newark Volunteer Fire Department said the man was “face down and breathing” when they arrived. He was not wearing a helmet.

The man was transported by Eagle Mountain Emergency Medical Services to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, according to Davis. Sgt. Sorrells, with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office, would not release any information at the scene, and the Tarrant County public information officer had not returned the Messenger’s call as of this posting.

Although the accident occurred in Tarrant County, it was within the Newark Fire Department’s district. More information will be posted as it’s available.
