POSSIBLE HIT AND RUN – A Paradise woman was flown to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth following an alleged hit-and-run accident involving a motorcycle and pickup around 11 Wednesday night. Lisa Clark Miller, 47, was northbound on Farm Road 920 about two miles south of Bridgeport when she laid down her bike. Miller and her husband, who was riding a motorcycle in front of her, contend it was a result of being hit by a pickup that continued down the roadway. “The accident is under investigation,” Texas Department of Public Safety Cpl. Jeff Johnson said. “Right now, there is no evidence that a vehicle struck her, but there’s also no evidence that it didn’t strike her.”
MOTORCYCLIST INJURED AFTER STRIKING GOAT – A 62-year-old man from Lake Dallas suffered several injuries after he rammed his motorcycle into a boer goat at 3:30 yesterday afternoon on County Road 1180. The accident occurred about a half-mile west of U.S. 81/287 and a few miles north of Decatur. Robert Looney was transported by ambulance to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur for a broken collarbone, lacerations and other injuries. From there he was flown by helicopter to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth as his condition worsened. He was not wearing a helmet. The goat was killed instantly. A Department of Public Safety State Trooper said Looney was westbound when he ran into the goat crossing the road. State Trooper Zeb Siebeneck said the goat had the right of way. “This is a county road,” he said. “Animals have the right of way. If this was an interstate it would be different. But on these roads you have to watch out for animals.” Passersby said goats frequently cross the road at that location.
