NORTHWEST TRUSTEE UNDER INVESTIGATION — Northwest ISD school board member Kerry Jones has been placed on administrative leave from his post at Colleyville Heritage High School as police investigate an allegation of having an inappropriate relationship with a student, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. Jones is a freshmen counselor at the Grapevine-Colleyville ISD school. In an official statement, Director of Communications Lesley Weaver said, “Northwest ISD is concerned about allegations against Mr. Kerry Jones. Northwest ISD is cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities and its investigation.” In compliance with laws pertaining to board service, Jones “has the legal right to continue service on the board during this time,” the statement said. Jones was elected to place 6 on the board in May 2011.
HISTORIC PHOTOS NEEDED — Historical photographs of Wise County are being collected for display on the walls of the new Weatherford College Wise County. Cathy Johnson, who teaches history and government, is organizing the project. She is hoping citizens, businesses, churches and schools will submit photos and pay for them to be printed. GOLF TOURNAMENT — The annual Decatur Lions Club Golf Tournament benefiting local Boy Scouts will be held Saturday at the Decatur Golf Club. Two-player team registration begins at 8 a.m.
