Teen drowns at Lake Bridgeport

A Bridgeport teenager was pronounced dead at North Texas Community Hospital in Bridgeport after he was pulled from Lake Bridgeport Tuesday evening. The Wise County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 7:15 p.m. that 16-year-old Saul Rodriguez had gone missing while swimming at Wise County Park with family members. Wise County Sheriff’s officers, the Chico Fire Department, Wise County EMS and the Texas Parks and Wildlife game wardens responded to the scene to search for the missing teen. He was located, and CPR was performed at the lake before he was transported by ambulance to the hospital. Rodriguez would have been a senior at Bridgeport High School this fall.
