Larry Short was elected Precinct 2 constable Tuesday, defeating Mike Andrews by a vote of 539 to 396 in the Republican primary runoff. Short will serve as the next constable for the precinct since the race did not draw a Democratic opponent. In the May 29 primary, Short received 46.5 percent of the vote in the four-person race with 574 votes, and Andrews received 20.3 percent of the total vote.
