The cities of Rhome and Newark were without power early Saturday after a transformer blew out in Newark, according to the Wise County Sheriff’s Department. The transformer was at FM 718 and McCain Streets in Newark. Shortly after 7 a.m., the sheriff’s department quoted Oncor officials at the scene as saying the power could be off for two-to-three hours while repairs are being made.
