One patient was flown to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas after a fiery wreck just before midnight Tuesday on School House Road, near Private Road 3484, in Paradise.
Investigators say the patient, the driver of a Ford F-150 “overestimated the curve,” lost control and struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to go up in flames.
Bystanders extricated the driver, who was unresponsive, from the vehicle. When medics arrived on scene, he was conscious. Injuries included possible second-degree burns to the abdomen area.
Medics transported the patient by ground ambulance to the Paradise High School football field, from which he was flown.
