FOOTBALL SEASON’S OVER – The Boyd Yellowjackets dropped their Region II area game 42-13 Friday against Winnsboro. Boyd was only down 14-0 at the half but could not generate any offense until late in the fourth quarter. The Red Raiders did most of their damage on the ground, totaling 483 yards rushing. Boyd ends the season with a 7-5 record.
HOLIDAY EVENT – Bridgeport’s Winter Wonderland holiday event is 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in downtown. Events include pictures with Santa 4 to 5:30 p.m. at State Farm, wassail tasting 5 to 8 p.m., the lighted Christmas parade at 6 p.m., tacky/ugly sweater contest at 7 p.m. at the Bridgeport Stage, and Holiday Shopping Frenzy and window decorating winners announced at 8 p.m. Parking will be available on Stevens, 11th, 9th and Cates streets and all side streets. IDENTITY THEFT PROGRAM – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Wise County is hosting an identity theft program 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Weatherford College Wise County. There will be a hamburger supper sponsored by area banks followed by a presentation from a United States secret service agent who will educate participants on protecting themselves from becoming a victim of identity theft. AUXILIARY DRAWING – The Wise Regional Hospital Auxiliary will have a drawing for a $500 bag of money Dec. 3. Raffle tickets are on sale for $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased in the hospital lobby or gift shop or from a volunteer.
