DECATUR MAN KILLED IN WRECK – A one-vehicle accident claimed the life of a Decatur man Sunday night on Farm Road 2264. Keith W. Jozwiak, 30, was westbound on FM 2264 when he lost control of his passenger car, left the roadway and collided into a tree at a high rate of speed. The impact instantly killed Jozwiak, who was only down the road from his home. The wreck happened at 9:30 p.m. several miles east of U.S. 81/287 near the Cowboy Church. A witness told investigators that no other vehicles were involved. Speed likely played a factor in the accident. No drugs or alcohol appeared to play a role. Jozwiak was topping a hill when he veered into the other lane. He tried to regain control and shot off the roadway, his vehicle becoming ensnarled in a roadside tree and barbed wire fence. East Wise Fire Department, Wise County EMS, Wise County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety all responded. A justice of the peace pronounced Jozwiak dead at the scene. Service for Jozwiak is pending at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
