REWARD FOR TIPS – Law enforcement officials have reported that the Cushy Tooshie, a store that sells cloth diapers and accessories in Decatur, was also hit when Patti’s Hair Parlor and Dr. Tad Billmire’s office were burglarized earlier this week. LAST DAY TO VOTE EARLY – Early voting for the Nov. 6 general election ends today. Polls are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Decatur Civic Center, Rhome City Hall and the Bridgeport Law Enforcement Center. Yesterday, 457 voted in Decatur, 222 in Rhome and 139 in Bridgeport for a total of 818.
SWIRL – The Eighter from Decatur Swirl is 6-9 p.m. Saturday in downtown Decatur. The event will feature wine tastings and food pairings in select downtown retail locations. GARAGE SALE – Hilltop Assembly of God in Boyd is holding a large garage sale 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow. The church is located at 1670 Texas 114 East. Proceeds go to the church’s building fund.
SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS – Applications for the Bridgeport Spirit of Christmas will be available beginning Monday, Nov. 5, at the Bridgeport Public Library, 2159 Kemp St., on U.S. 380. Applications must be returned to the library by noon Wednesday, Nov. 14.
BENEFIT FOR WRECK VICTIM – A benefit account has been opened at The Community Bank in Bridgeport for Michael Bible of Bridgeport. Bible was seriously injured in a car accident earlier this month in Oklahoma. Donations may be made to the “Michael Bible Medical Account.” Chili’s restaurant in Decatur will also donate 10 percent of all proceeds to the family today through Sunday.
FAMILY FUN NIGHT – The first-ever Carson Elementary Family Fun Night is 6 to 9 p.m. today at the school. Admission is one canned food item to be donated to WARM. There will be bounce houses, prizes, a four square tournament and a DJ.
