Five-year-old Paradise girl drowns at Eagle Mountain Lake


A 5-year-old girl from Paradise drowned in Eagle Mountain Lake late yesterday afternoon. Pipper Sasnett was swimming with a group of people in the designated swimming area of Eagle Mountain Lake in Azle when she went under at about 6 p.m. The girl was unresponsive by the time medics arrived. She was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at the emergency room at 7 p.m. Chad Lorance, spokesperson for Tarrant Regional Water District, said the district is still investigating the tragedy and interviewing witnesses to find out exactly what happened. He said they will release more information when it becomes available.
