Springtown Police Chief Ed Crowdis said speed was a factor in a wreck late last night that killed a Paradise teenager. Crowdis said Paige Davila, 17, of Paradise was driving north on Farm Road 51 in the Springtown city limits at a high rate of speed, according to witnesses, when she left the roadway, struck a speed limit sign, overcorrected and crossed back across the roadway, went through a fence and then struck a pole anchored in concrete where the car came to rest. Davila was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 11 p.m. Two passengers, identified as Christian Gomez, 18, of Decatur and Paige Harkings, 18, of Paradise were also in the vehicle and were taken by ground ambulance to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with non life-threatening injuries, according to Crowdis.

SO many traagedies in Wise County small towns this summer. Hug your kids and make sure they know you love them because you just never know.
