Precinct 4 County Commissioner Terry Ross has been temporarily suspended from his duties following a judge’s ruling this afternoon. After hearing evidence in the civil case today to temporarily remove Ross from office until the outcome of his criminal case, 97th District Judge Roger Towery issued the ruling at 3 p.m. Ross was indicted in May for tampering with government records and abuse of official capacity. The ruling was made in 271st District Court in Decatur. Ross’ criminal case is expected to go to trial next month. Glenn Hughes was appointed as a temporary replacement for Ross on commissioner’s court.
