A Chico man was critically injured in a motorcycle wreck on County Road 1658 near Aston Drive in Lake Bridgeport early Wednesday morning.

Matthew Reaves, 31, was flown to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth after the accident that occurred around 12:30 a.m.

Investigators said it appears Reaves was traveling northboung on CR 1658 at a high rate of speed when he missed a curve and ran off the roadway into a barbed wire fence.

He was not wearing a helmet.
