Responding to complaints about weeds, the Oaklawn Cemetery Board decided to mow early this spring, meaning the bluebonnets at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur are gone. The mowing began yesterday and continued this morning. The bluebonnet-covered cemetery has been a popular spot for photos over the years.

That is sad. That shouldnot have had to happen

Was planning to drive to Decatur this weekend to see the bluebonnets in the cemetary. Oh well.

Isn’t mowing them against the law? It’s a shame they couldn’t mow around them. I always take the kids out there as soon as we do the Easter Egg Hunt at the Square for photos.

  4. Don’t they know that by mowing this early, they won’t come back next year? How sad.

  5. Couldn’t it have waited a couple of weeks? How sad and stupid.
